Background tasks come with 1.37

1.37 is out with a crucial update:

  • [new] ability to perform tasks in background – now you can close and open the tasks dialog when you wish; including adding new tasks while other are still in progress
  • [changed] Frostline database

With this update you can, for example, start importing data for market analysis and do other stuff while it’s still working. While CREST is still being awfully slow, you can at least not waste time for watching a progress bar.

Just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for the continued development of this great tool!

  • NacRuno

    Thanks for the updates!

The tool is pretty awesome as it is but I have a feature request if you are looking into expanding it. It would be great if we could set a bought price for the items we are selling so we always know with what margin we are selling them with the current prices. I would even prefer it to be a price manually added in so that I can calculate and add in the average bought prices of my items if they don’t come from a single source. Right now I am using the notes section for it but its a pain to recalculate the margin each time, and this could improve the tool’s usage for market prediction assets.

It’s been there since the first version – it’s the item cost tab. You can enter prices manually, or you can enable automatic filling on buy order fulfillment.

      • NacRuno

Oh wow, I guess I shouldn’t have disregarded that as a useless tab =D. Thanks for the heads up!! It should be a big lifesaver for me once I figure out how to use it during my routine.

thanks for anohter update! (u guys are really active), the import data for market analisys hasnt succeeded sice ive updated tho (80 and 3600s timeout) . I’ve noticed that a lot of spreads arent really there due to a to loew buy price is being shown (check a lot of ship types for amarr). Is that already noticed?

    • Kamil Rojewski

You can decrease max requests per second in the network preferences. CREST is really buggy at the moment and it causes a lot of errors.

  • Napster

How you can keep the items in Market analysis? If you import something else you seem to lose the previous one… (I know you can find them in the market browser btw)

    • Kamil Rojewski

Right now you can’t. That’s a planned feature.

      • Napster

oh ok thanks… 😀 I lost so much time trying to find a way :/
I only want to check the profit margins with some filters on.

  • Parrryy

Is there a feature planned to allow alliance doctrine fits to be saved so people can simply order them by selecting the a fit, from say a drop down list or something?

    • Kamil Rojewski

      You mean the alliance market?

      • Parrryy

Yeah, so you would be able to save a predefined fit which users can select from.

        • Kamil Rojewski

It is planned, but I don’t know when I’ll come back to eve.
